chicago hope
this week has been the best week of my entire life. it surpassed the greatness of chicago last year by far. i won't go into too much detail because that would be lame, but be warned...it'll still be ridiculously long.
the sites were so fun. i liked them all. i liked rotating sites. although we got rained out during the car wash, it was all good. i was doing service evangelism the last day and we finished up at the park and i was lucky on my park days. we really didn't have any rough kids. but that day a little boy just ran up to me (didn't know him; hadn't met him) and punched me in the "chest" and yelled something not worth repeting and ran away. i was shocked. i mean, i know they were hitting the guys, but you wouldn't really expect a 5 or 6 year old boy to punch a girl...
mitch and i cleaned the park together that day. i think we got most of the glass bottles because ours was freaking heavy. we found a crack bag with some crack still in it...we threw it away, don't worry.
we met a violently drunk man that day too. he scared all of the girls. we hid behind tyler, jeff, and jay.
now on to our amusment times. first and formost is mitch's slip 'n' slide afternoon. we tore it up, but we got so good slides out of it. mitch said i was the best, but i think jennie and jonny gave me a run for my money... second was our thrift store prom and i wore a black and white classic eighties dress. it was great. third was the fabulous baseball game between the red sox and white sox... i still don't know who one because we left after the eighth inning. an obnoxious man sat behind us screaming obsenities and then used "doofus". how lame. he was drunk and saying the dumbest stuff ever. i liked the subway home because it was fun. micah almost killed me by pushing me in front of the el onto the electricity conducting tracks and scared the crap outta me. i sat next to micah, jennie, and libby and we were cracking jokes like "look it's jared in a 'subway!!'"....i guess you had to be there...
friends. i made a ton of them. i mean, i alredy have friends but i made entirely new ones that i hope to keep, but will be really hard since i will be gone for a few weeks. let's see...who did i make friends with and what do i think about it....
micah: this probably has to be the first because i didn't know him at all before chicago and now we are engaged... ;) we surprisingly had alot more in common than i figured we would. i thought it would be kinda like oil and water (not quite). i think the only thing we don't agree on is fat people. we saw many different symbolised crack bags and bottle caps together! thank you for making my "el" and bus ride interesting micah. oh and thank you for taking one for the team and going to taco bell with us.
brooke: i knew brooke. i'd been to movies with her before. she is the sweetest girl. really easy to talk to. i'm glad i got to know her. we are trash-picking-up buddies. thanks for reminding me about "destiny" and "mash it".
libby: yes libby, i wanted to see the white sox pull off a "smash hit" too before we left, but it didn't happen. thin layers are getting thicker.
jennie: wow, haven't hung out with her in a LONG time. gosh i missed her...haha good times were had...part two! filming kara in her sleep and putting shaving cream on her. thanks for doing my eighties eye shadow. haha hey jennie,.... you're gross. "bahye"
kara: i think the shaving cream was funny.
i learned so much. i love chicago. it's my favorite place in the entire world. i LOVE it. i wish we could go back every month. it's amazng the impact a little church from brentwood can have on a ginormous city like chicago. jamie has sucha a big heart.
