i just kinda copied and pasted from a couple of emails i wrote because i am lazy and tired. it's midnight here. it is six hours ahead. meh.
ashley got herself locked in a small space for 20 minutes. she was banging on the church doors and an was walking across the street and i just thought she wanted to wave, so i waved. she tried to get me to come over to where she was, but i was busy, so i didn't. about five minutes later, i came back out and she was still there. she wanted me to open the door. i told her to go around because there are doors to hallways that lead to the actual church part. she told me to open the outside doors because they were locked. i told her i couldn't do anything about it (because if she was inside and she couldn't open the doors, and i was outside i couldn't fix that) and that she would just have to go around. she told me she couldn't because those doors were locked also and she'd been in there for twenty minutes. i just laughed at her, then went to help her out. it was hilarious. it was kinda like she was on display in a zoo. it was just pure greatness. went to durham and ate mcdonalds: that's all there is to that story. i did however buy 2 hats (one is simply amazing) and a scarf. i am so excited. went to a cathedral in durham. we saw the courtyard where a part of harry potter was filmed. mitch fit in real well, esp. with his hogwarts scarf (which i stole for the rest of the day).
i like hearing the differences in our languages. examples:
trainers=tennis shoes
fringes=bangs
posh=?
pants=underwear (some of us found this out the hard way)
trousers=pants
rubbish=trash
i like hearing people speak cockney (sp?). it's just really cool. trouble and strife means wife, apples and pears means stairs.
